Indianapolis is typically considered an affordable place to live. 

The median price of a single-family home in the city was $225,000 in July, well below the median U.S. price of $367,000, according to the latest data from MIBOR, a local trade organization representing Central Indiana realtors, and the National Association of Realtors. 

Yet, some homes in the Circle City currently are on sale for well above the median price. Those homes tend to be luxury estates and downtown condos with multiple bedrooms, loads of bathrooms, high-end features and exclusive views. Here are 10 of the most expensive homes currently for sale in Indianapolis as of Aug. 26.

10. Dutch-colonial blend by Newfields

Close to Newfields and the Woodstock Country Club, this estate is a blend of modern and Dutch-colonial with four bedrooms and six bathrooms. The home sits on 1.8 acres and features stainless steel appliances, high ceilings and oversized windows that fill the home with natural light. The master bathroom has a garden tub and double sinks. There’s a breakfast room and formal dining room.
